It was fun to take pictures with this camera. It has a long lasting battery and can hold alot of pictures. I love the convenience of being able to point and shoot, this camera Nikon COOLPIX S220 Digital Camera 10 MEGAPIXELS, is lightweight and easy to use. I don't like all the bells and whistles though that i found not usable in the software. They are cumbersome to use, especially when you want to just take your picture and go.

It is easy to upload pictures from this camera to your desktop computer using the included USB Cable UC-E6.  It is compatible with Macs and PCs photo management software and any email program. Then you can send the photos to your friends via email, post them on your website or bring your chip to the camera store for prints. I had some of my digital images printed and enlarged. I used the black and white option and found the results to be pretty good. Since I am not really a camera techie, i did not have perfect command over the relationships between image and print. Everything is so automated these days, so if you are looking for artistic production, i would venture to say, this model is not it, for that.  But it is good for the designer or layman who needs to capture something quickly and know that the image will be satisfactory for print or website. The results are good enough.

I believe this is a good camera for general, modern day technological uses. Or maybe something you will buy for grandma or your pre-teens first camera. There are many things to learn on this camera, not all of the options are necessary to have command over in order to operate the camera though, nor do you have to use them. There are the personal preferences we all have when using software, so this gives the individual many ways to store photos, share photos, audio options, zoom control, movies and recording, not to mention the twenty-six indicators that may appear in the monitor.

Along with the camera you will get a strap, a rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL 10 with a case, Battery Charger MH-63 with a power cable, USB Cable, Audio Video Cable EG-CP14, and the Software Suite Installer CD, User's Manual and Quick Start Guide.  The camera comes in different colors too.  A memory card is not included, so a good idea is to buy one when you purchase the camera and a good case to protect the monitor.  I got the CoolPix one for a nice fit.

I found the CoolPix Camera to feel a bit fragile in hand. The Pin/power connector cover seems to hang on by a thread. This soft plastic flap that is covering the pin port for the USB Cable dangles when it is opened. The battery chamber/memory card slot cover is a little more secure. One must be gentle when handling, inserting and removing the battery and memory chip. There is also a tripod socket.
The LCD monitor is 2.5 inches. There is a 3X zoom.

I bought my CoolPix Camera last year. I haven't been to the camera store for a while, i am sure that any day now CoolPix will not be so cool anymore.
