Pros: It's a Nikon, outstanding quality, easy to learn and use.
Cons: Like any SLR, it's a little bulky for light travel.
The Bottom Line:
Outstanding camera. You cannot go wrong with this camera.
My wife purchased the Nikon D60 for my birthday this year. I'll admit, I was new to the whole SLR world, but having used a Canon digital camera for years, I've been able to master this camera quite nicely. My camera was purchased at a local Wolf camera store. The reason for purchasing at Wolf camera was due to the fact they offer free classes for anyone purchasing their cameras. I've attended a half dozen classes so far and have learned amazing tricks and techniques.
Right out of the box, this camera had the look and feel of a well engineered tool. It's rugged enough for adventurous vacations, yes precise enough for quality holiday photos at home. All the controls are clear, easily visible and the help menu is full of useful information. There is an endless list of frames, effects and color arrangements that can be selected while creating photo masterpieces. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything about this camera this year and I'm sure it will be for any years to come. The online user community is extremely helpful as well. there are many sites dedicated to the use of this camera and sharing experiences for creative shots. The battery for this camera is amazing, I took 250 photos on the first change and only recharged because I was taking the camera out for a day trip and did not want any surprises.
