Pros: Fun for the whole family- plenty of variations
Cons: Expensive- retails for about $49.99
This was the first game we purchased when we bought our Game Cube. What a blast- a MAJOR step up from the Nintendo 64 Mario Kart game. Choose 2 players to be on your kart- one drives, the other throws items at passing players to trip them and slow them down. Once you win 4 races (in 1st place, hat is), you're awarded a new car. Win bigger and more difficult races, and you'll win new characters to choose from. Win the 150 CC race in 1st place, and you'll get the "Star" cup mode. Win the "Star" cup and you'll get the "Mirror" mode- an interesting twist on the existing tracks (they're the opposite of the original track- i.e. looking in a mirror). Lots of fun extra games ("Bomb Attack", "Shine Thief" and "Ballon Burst")to keep you challenged for months to come.
