Pros: Great image quality and an amazing unlimited consecutive shooting option.
Cons: It doesn't have any Advance scene modes and no flip animation.
The Bottom Line:
Buy it and see how great it is to play around with the many scene modes. Easy to use and many options.
The Super Zoom Panasonic DMC-TZ4K is a great buy. It has a 10x optical zoom and 8.1 mega pixels. The performance features has wide range capabilities. I bought this camera a year later then it came out in 2008. I wanted to have a good capable camera but with half the size. The older camera I had was huge and clunky. The old camera was good and gave great shots but the size became a problem. I have a lot of things in my purse and such a big camera couldn't fit into my purse. It had to be carried in a separate bag. A big hassle all around. This Lumix was great from the first day I bought it. The case that I bought with it was in fact smaller the larger camera I had before!
I loved the performance features like the White Balance, Exposures and Scene Modes. The choices of scene modes were amazing too, such as Portrait, Soft Skin, Scenery, Sports, Night Portrait, Night Scenery, and thats the only six out of twenty options. I am not a photographer in any means but with this camera I feel very close to one. I can get great pictures that look very close to professionally done.
The video recording is pretty great too, at least for a camera. I didn't buy this camera in specificity of a recorder. I personally just wanted the great quality of the camera aspect. I got a two in one deal! The recording was surprisingly decent. Of course if the movement was too fast or I moved the camera too fast it would get a little pix-elated but all in all it was very decent. My daughter took many video recordings of her 10 week old pug puppy. The video recording was great for that. The puppy couldn't move fast and so she just shot the lens at the puppy and let him do his thing. One of the greatest moments that she was able to catch on video.
I encourage the average camera user to at least try this camera out. A great buy for great capabilities.
