Pros: Zoom, Easy Loading, Red Eye Reduction
Cons: Panorama Shots
Two years ago my husband bought me the Pentax ESP10 160 zoom camera. He owns an old Pentax where you have to check settings, focus, and do so many things before you can take the picture that he usually misses the opportunity. I did not want this. I wanted a good "idiot" camera. And the Pentax 160 zoom is the best. The first thing that I loved about the camera was that all you have to do to load it is put the film in the back, move the film into position and close the back. The camera loads itself and tells you if there is an error or if it is loaded correctly. The next great feature about this camera is that it does so many different things at once. For instance, you can set it for a flash when needed, a flash all the time, eliminate "red eye", no flash ever (which was very useful to me when we visited a museum in Greece this past October, where you could take pictures, but no flash pictures), or just automatic where the camera thinks for itself. But the absolutely best feature about this camera is the 160 zoom. It is just incredible. It is great to use when taking candid shots, because you can be far away and people don't know you are taking their picture. I have gotten some sensational shots this way.
The one thing is do not like about this camera is the "panorama" feature. I do not think it really does a panorama, just seems to make the existing picture narrower.
On the whole, I would highly recommend this camera for people who want to look and shot!
