High Quality Voice Recording Device
| Author's Rating: |

Pros: Excellent sound quality for voice over recording.
Cons: Could have come with more software.
The Bottom Line:
Excellent quality at acceptable price doing voice overs for video projects or speech recognition.
After trying many solutions to increase the quality of voice recordings using my on-board soundcard on my laptop, I gave up and paid $69.99 for the DSP400 model.
The combination of headset and microphone is comfortable to wear, and it is fairly easy to adjust the microphone away from you mouth to avoid "puff" sounds. The headset plugs into your USB connection on your computer and bypasses your soundcard. The quality of the sound is truly amazing compared to what my soundcard would give me. The sound is full and rich, and is ideal if you are using voice recognition software, or want to put down voice overs into your video editing projects.
When I first started plugged it in, I could not detect any difference from my soundcard recordings and I was dismayed. I had failed to make sure to select it Windows XP as a recording device, however, and after that, every time I plug it in, it is recognized automatically by Windows.
Now I am blazing through my voice recordings, and I have to spend very little time in post processing of my projects.
Maybe I would like to see more software coming with it, but that is really the only thing I see as lacking.
