Author's Review
I have owned many bluetooth headsets, the Plantronics 520 without a doubt ranks way above the rest. But then I have always had great luck with Plantronics in general. To me the most important feature of this headset or any headset for that matter, is the call quality. The reception of the voyager 520 is crystal clear, with virtually no static. Something which cannot be said for most other makes on the market. I made the huge mistake of buying a Blue Antz z9i on the recommendation of a Best Buy employee, bug mistake here. I have never been happy with the blue antz headset. It has very poor call quality, the static being very prevalent when you turn up the volume. Fortunately you never hear this static with the Plantronics 520.
Battery life is very good, I've gone 3+ days without having to charge the unit. And that's with it being on all day. Funny thing is, when I go to charge it, it only takes about 15 minutes to get to a full charge! You can tell that it's fully charged when the red light goes out on the headset itself.
The 520 voyager comes with a charging base unit, kind of neat. To my knowledge, this is the only bluetooth headset I've seen with this.
As mentioned earlier, the number one feature of the 520, is the excellent call quality. It truly is incredible. In many cases it's even better than the phone itself. There is no static, at least none that I can detect with my hearring. I have another Plantronics product which in itself is very clear, but the Voyager 520 is still more quieter. In fact I've had to ask the person on the other end if they were still on the line!
To the fact, part of the design in itself, is what makes the call quality so good. The earpiece actually fits right into the ear canal. This helps isolate the call reception and helps to block out background noise.

The unit is very comfortable to wear, you hardly know it's there. In fact, I've had to reach up and feel for it to be sure it's still on my head. In my experience I prefer the rubber type ear clasps to the wire ones. To me the wire ones tend to be more noticable, they dig into your ear. The 520 is a very esthetic looking headset, really nice blue metalalic look.

The call functions are as follows, two quick pulses on the 'function' button redials the last number. One continuous pulse activates the voice call/dialing feature. I really like the fact that the redial function is two quick pulses as compared to the 'one' pulse that most other manufacturers use. This two pulse redialing is definitely the better way to go, you are not as apt to accidentally call a bogus number whilst carrying the unit in say your shirt. Trust me, this has happened to me many times with my old Motorola headset, this was one of the reasons I got rid of it. It's very awkward when you have to explain to the person on the other end why you called them, not to mention the fact they can hear things you don't want them to hear. NOT GOOD.

I highly recommend the Plantronics Voyager 520, you really cant go wrong with anything Plantronics makes in general, in my opinion they wrote the book on bluetooth headset technology.

I bought mine from amazon.com, they were the best price by far. In fact they were $25.00 cheaper than Walmart! I believe the current price on Amazon is $42.98, last time I looked it was $69.00 at Walmart! Don't be fooled by the less than positive reviews on amazon, you are getting exactly what is in the store. Another great reason to buy stuff at Amazon, is you get free shipping on orders over $25.00 and no tax! In case anybody is wondering, I don't work for Amazon.com. I just love their cheap prices for quality merchandise.

If you buy the Voyager 520 you will not be sorry, it's cutting edge technology and a cut above the rest.

P.S. When I pair the bluetooth with my phone, it actually comes up listing the headset model as 521ATT. Even though it says 520 on the box. Don't know whether this is a model exclusive to Amazon or not?
