Pros: Tiny fold! Cool looking! Lightweight! Tiny Fold!
Cons: Sounds like a helicopter, may tip if you're not careful
The Bottom Line:
Buy It Now! You won't regret it.
This is a fantastic "umbrella" stroller, and something anyone who flies frequently should not live without. I often fly alone with my son, 32 months, and 38 inches, and we needed a good small stroller for our next big trip. This was the third stroller we bought. Our first, the Maclaren Mac3, 2004 version, disintegrated after appx.10 months of regular use, but they did redeem themselves later.
Our second was a Bugaboo Chamelon, which I adore for its versatility, but I have the world's tiniest car, a Saturn SL, and wanted something I could toss in the boot for mall trips and other smooth-terrained excursions. The Quinny is everything I hoped it would be.
I live in a bumpy neighborhood with cobblestone streets and brick paved sidewalks, and even on this terrain, I was super impressed with how well it handled. You do need to take care with trying to lift it over humps, taking care to lift evenly on both sides, but other than that, the turning was beautiful. It's large wheels create a lot of noise, but they also stabilise the stroller so that every teency little bump doesn't require massive jumping maneuvers, something I found necessary with a neighbors Maclaren Volo I had borrowed a few times.
We flew to Europe, me alone with the child, and the stroller was superb in the airport, and even fits through the security scanner when folded. There is a bit on the frame that resembles a sawed off-shotgun, though, but no major hassles. WAY simpler than putting the Bugaboo through security.
As far as storage, I purchased two made-for-zapp bags off of eBay which solved that problem. Buggy Baskets Ltd sells a behind-the-seat and underseat baskets which I found very useful, and they can remain on while the stroller is folded.
My son , who is abt. 38 inches and 32 pounds is pretty comfortable, although due to the shape and nylon fabric he slides down sometimes, but he just readjusts himself. He also naps in it occasionally. It's reccomended from 6 months and up, but I would definitely reccomend a year or more, due to the sliding and also the straps don't get very tight, even on my boy, and I imagine a young/small child would just slip right out of the straps.
Last, I have a teeny house, so small that I have to take the bugaboo apart every time I bring it in the house, and the Zapp folds small enough to fit in the tiny closet in my son's room.
Overall, fantastic for travel, malls, zoo, etc, not so good for every day all day, if you walk around as much as we do, but we're always outside.
