Pros: Sleek looking with lots of useful input connections
Cons: None really, but maybe that the HDMI labelling quirk
The Bottom Line:
Look no further if a monitor/TV combo is what your looking for.
I bought the Samsung 2333HD because I needed higher resolution than my laptop. At 1920x1080 (or 1080p), this was significantly more resolution than my laptop at 1366x768. I can almost place two complete documents side by side.
The first thing I noticed was how sleek the unit looks: glossy black, blue LED light below the front, round corners. The screen angles so that you can look up or down onto the screen. Blue LED annoyingly bright? that's ok because it can be turned down with 10 gradiations and customized to be off/on/on-when-standby/etc. Lots of customizations through the menu options.
The picture quality from my PC through HDMI or DVI was excellent: very sharp with good contrast. TV was good (comcast broadcast HD), although with a 23" TV @1080i/p, you have to be sitting pretty close to notice the difference between HD and regular broadcasts. The speakers were actually pretty good considering they are downward facing. I like that I don't have to have separate speakers (and the clutter of cables). With HDMI, I only needed a single cable (hdmi cable) to pass both sound and video to the monitor. With DVI, I had to use the included stereo passthough.
The Samsung 2333HD has more connections than most LCD monitors:
Two HDMI, One DVI, and one analog. Also it support sound inline and antenna for TV/Cable. One of the HDMI ports is on the left of the screen for quick access (like plugging in a laptop).
The 2333HD comes with most of the cables you might need: power, HDMI, analog and stereo passthough. The included remote is very rounded look and it matches the monitor. I found myself using the remote to customize and control the monitor/TV - it was mostly intuitive and responsive.
My only gripe is when using HDMI with a computer which supports HDMI, the best image is obtained when the HDMI label is changed to 'PC'. Otherwise, the monitor will optimized the HDMI for video sources and it won't look sharp with a computer. At first, this wasn't obvious to me and wasn't discussed in the manual.
