Sandisk 4 gig MP3 player
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: cost, size, storage ability
Cons: resilience, music search speed, battery life
The Bottom Line:
This product is worth the money spent due to its size and storage capacity.
I originally bought this music player a few years ago because Apple products were out of my price range and required caveats like iTunes. I found that this MP3 player was a wise purchase for several reasons:
1) It is a cheap player
2) It is very small and lightweight (and thus quite portable).
3) The clip on the back of the player, paired with the player's tiny size, make it easy to take along while running or exercising.
4) Has a high capacity for music storage due to a slot in the side for a memory chip. My player now has 16 gb memory after I added a 12 gig chip.
5) It works with MP3, WMA, and MP4 files; no iTunes necessary (though it does work with iTunes).
There are a few cons:
1) It isn't extremely resilient, as in, after a few times dropping my player (I am sometimes a bit careless when taking things out of my bag), it stopped functioning properly, and I had to replace it. That's not to say that its lifespan is poor, for my father has had his sandisk music player for almost three years now, and it is still going strong; but he is much more careful about not dropping it. However, if you're walking or running around without dropping it, it functions properly.
2) There is no scrolling wheel ability like in an iproduct for music searches, so you have to click the down button repeatedly or hold it down to search for what you want. This makes music searches a bit slower than you would experience with an ipod.
3) Its battery life isn't the strongest; after charging it, it will usually last 5-10 hours for me depending on how much time I spend fiddling with what's playing, how loud it is, and the screen brightness.
