The Sansa e260 is built with tough titanium alloy that serves a dual purpose: sexy style, and unprecedented durability. The Sansa e260 can take a licking and keep on ticking and with battery life of up to 20 hours, that’s a whole lot of ticking on a single charge. Store photos, videos, and music on the built-in 4 GB of flash memory that’s expandable with a microSD memory card. The entertainment doesn’t stop there, you can even listen to your favorite radio stations with the FM tuner if you manage to reach the end of your 1000 song library. Priced right and filled with features, the e260 is another noteworthy digital media player from SanDisk.

One of the Best Player I had ever had
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: Expansion slot, Size, tons of features, works with MS Media Player
Cons: Easy to accidental record voice, lack accessories, no wall charger
The Bottom Line:
Does everything a nano can do and more. No other player right now has an expansion slot.
Bought this originally for my father(70 years old) because it works easily with MS Media Player(MP) 11. Finding a player that takes MP is extremely important to me because I have been teaching my dad on how to "rip" and "burn" disk for the past year and a half. Why media player than itunes? MP was free @ the time, at the moment I was "hating" apple because of my wife's nano(more later). Lastly but not least, I was in no mood to "teach" my dad something new after investing over 1.5 years of training...
Back to the review, I have to buy 2 of these units so I can have one handy so I can explain to him(lives over 1500 miles away) how to use it or when he had questions(which it could happen @ any time). After using this unit for 2 weeks, it was not too hard to fell in love with it.
This beats my wife's Nano by a mile - bigger screen, can do videos(which my 5 year old love watching from when I pick him up from school) and has an expansion slot(nobody has this option). There is one more thing I need to note, I had to deal with Apple's customer service before when I had to change out my wife's nano's battery...Lets just say, that is one of the worst customer's experience I have ever had(#2 reason why I refuse to endorse their iTunes/ipod when my dad ask about ripping music)
Here are my main positives on this unit:
* Great screen
* Does video
* Works well with Media Player
* Voice Recorder
* Small and light
* Extremely fast charger(3 hours for me)
Here is my main negatives on the player:
* Doesn't have an AC charger out of the box(bought the ipod shuffle charge block that takes USB with your current USB cable charge via AC).
* Can't play music when it is in recharge state (connect to the computer)
* Not all album cover's(one of the coolest thing) get downloaded to the player during synch(might be the software fault - not player)
* Videos get broken into pieces when you use its software to convert videos.
* Lack accessories.
Although, it sounds like I am complaining a lot, I am not and they are very minor. I have a lot more complaints when it comes to the Nano(don't get me started).
In short, this was a very pleasant and worthy buy because pleasing my father is a lot harder than pleasing myself. My dad loves it - hence I love it too. Now, my mom(65 years old) wants one...
