Pros: -Easy to use, compact, good pics/video, 360 degree fold-out display

Cons: -60 min battery life, no usb charging, no external mic port, old-fashioned lens cap

The Bottom Line: 
Unless you are a total videophile who demands tons of features, this should serve your needs and not break the bank. Why pay more if you don't need to?

I was looking for a simple, feature-packed camcorder for a good price. I stumbled across the Xacti CG10 at Radio Shack, on sale for $179 back in March. I needed a camera that would take HD Video and high quality pictures, too. I've had it for 3 months and I'm impressed. It does basically everything I want it to. My daughter, Soffiya, was born on June 7th and I've taken picture after picture of her! Picture quality is up to 10mp and video is 720p. You can store plenty of both with a maximum of 32gb of SDHC storage. At the price, you can buy plenty of cards.

There are a few features I would have liked to have, but can live without. For example, I'd like to charge the battery VIA USB, have an automatic lens cap, microphone jack, and longer battery life. I understand the features like that add to the cost. Besides, this unit is so inexpensive, you can but extra batteries. So that's one problem you don't have to worry about!

The unit is compact, easy-to-use, and comes with everything you need except for the SD memory cards and carrying case. If you are looking to take pictures and video for personal/family use, the Xacti CG10 is for you.
