i used to think that Seagate was a really good hard drive but i have decided to not buy them any more... i bought the Seagate barracuda 7200 rpm 16 mb cache 320 gig hard drive from Tiger Direct. after my first two were bad i got my third one and figured it would work. boy was i wrong...when i went to install it the data connector wall broke off leaving only the wires (first time installed). now i have been building my own computers for many years, have worked as an IT person for several jobs and was even trained on computer repair in the navy and have never seen a hard drive break in any way such as this one did. since it was past the 30 days for Tiger Direct to take it back (had power supply issues that delayed it) i went to Seagate to get it fixed. after spending 45 minutes on the phone with someone named John (was clearly not his real name) trying to explain to him over and over that it was the connection on the hard drive and not the cable and him still getting it confused and telling me that they MIGHT repair it or replace it with a refurbished i hung up furious and called back later. after getting another person that didn't understand either i decided to fix the connection my self by epoxying it. that worked fine until the hard drive started making clunking noises and missing sectors on the disk and then ended up causing windows to fail. i have since switched to a Western Digital caviar of the same speed and size and i am very pleased and will never buy a Seagate again.
