Sonic Unleashed: not as bad as they say it is.

Pros: graphics, sonic levels, not many bugs.
Cons: controls, ddr inspired pushing of buttons on the screen to do things, camera, no spin-dash.
The Bottom Line:
once you get past the controls, and the fact that sonic is a warewolf it is actualy a fun game.
In sonic unleashed sonic turns into a warewolf, or warehog at night and you go through half of the levels as sonic and half as the warehog which I think may be a shamless coppy of zelda twilight princess. This hasnt gone over well with people. There are a lot of reviews on the internet saying how the sonic levels are gold but it is not worth going through the warehog levels to get there. I think people dont like the idea of sonic as a warehog because sonics trademark is speed to make him into a 500 lb pro wreslter type charicter seems wrong. I think it would have made a lot more sence if knuckles was the warewolf. However I am kinda starting to like the warehog levels. Its kinda like streetfighter mixed with a 3d platfromer. I mean what is more fun than takeing one enmy and throwing him into another? It becomes more fun once you find the combos. I havent played it all the way through yet so I may change my mind before it is over. Admitedly the sonic levels are way better. At times it brings back memories of sonic 2 on the genesis and the graphics are awesome, but if the whole game was made of sonic levels you could play through it in like 30 minuites because they are that fast. I think with the warehog levels sega was trying to give the game a better platforming aspect that they have been looking for ever sence they were in competition with mario. In warehog mode sonics arms can extend like streach armstrong to reach taller ledges and he can double-jump and jump from poles sticking out of the wall. However the confusing controls take away from that expirence. Occasionaly you will find the hardest obsticle isnt the enemy but figuring out the controls which is unfortunate. All in all sonic uleashed remains one of the best 3d sonic games.
