Ok Camera...

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Small, light weight, stylish, rechargeable battery

Cons: terrible in low light rooms, scratches easily, pictures are often blurry, slow response time.

The Bottom Line:
Don't purchase.  You can spend less and get something comparable or spend a little more and get something of higher quality.

We purchased this camera to take on our honeymoon in Hawaii in April 2009.  At first we really liked it (small body, seemed to take good shots, etc).

While the camera appears to be fine for the "casual" user, it doesn't seem to be up to par with our standards.  When taking pictures in a darker room (or room with little natural light) the pictures appear to be blurry and out of focus- this is with the auto focus setting on.  We were not expecting the quality and response times of a digital SLR camera; however, we purchased a new camera thinking that it would provide us with a better quality picture than the Nikon Cool Pics camera we already had.  While this camera does have a rechargeable battery (our Nikon did not) the images were the same quality at best, and our Nikon was only 5 megapixel.  Needless to say, we couldn't tell a difference between the two camera (thus can't justify the money spent to buy a "better" camera.

For about $110bucks I guess it is Ok, but I would suggest spending a little more to get a higher quality camera.  If we had it to do over again, we would not purchase this camera again and I would not recommend this camera to anyone looking to purchase a new digital camera.  Cheaper cameras can provide you with the same quality as this one.

While we have been happy with other Sony products that we have purchased in the past, this one was subpar and we are disapointed.  We are expecting our first child next month, and will unfortunatley be looking for a better camera before he is born.  Shouldn't have to purchase another camera due to poor quality in less than 9 months.
