Pros: High quality image, versatile, easy-to-use
Cons: None so far
The Bottom Line:
For the money I paid, I couldn't be happier.
There's another fella reviewing this camera who absolutely hates it. I'm convinced he's either a real pro, or got a lemon.
I've held off on getting a digital camera for years, until last month when I got the Cybershot. That being said, I have 7 years of experience shooting digital video on prosumer cameras (XL1, XL2, XLH, and HVX200a), so I'm not a total novice.
I think this camera takes terrific low-light pictures. Seems to scrounge light from every possible source to provide a great image. You really should read the manual before you start shooting (I've never advocated reading manuals before). Figure out what the camera is capable of, get familiar, then have fun.
The HD Video, albeit not "true" HD, is high quality. On my 4gig card I can shoot up to 72 minutes. Already used it at a wedding and on a road trip, and was the easiest thing to drop into Final Cut. Even the audio, considering the size of the camera, is pretty sleek.
I don't have anything negative to say about it yet. A friend of mine even dropped it on the pavement last week, from about 4 feet up, and it's still working great (my memory card in it was unreadable but the camera still works).
