Pros: Small package, great pictures in fair - good - excellent light
Cons: Poorish low light pictures, controls are small or multi function
Be very careful about what exact model number the camera store wants to sell you. I was the victim of a bait and switch by broadwayphoto.com, same as bwayphoto.com and many other aliases. If you’re in the US like me, do not accept a “J” model camera! Sony will not service a HVR-A1J in the US. Service is only available in Japan. You will see the HVR-A1 advertised at $1500 - $1800 price point. This should be a big red flag. Take a look at these links and read before you take a chance on one of these loss leader advertisements. Go to the New York Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbbnewyork.org and search on the website URL bwayphoto.org.
