These Studio Monitor Series headphones incorporate high-end materials and advanced engineering to produce critically clean, exceptionally clear sound for professional and high fidelity applications. Swivel earcups enable single-sided monitoring for DJ and remix applications. Listen to house sound with one ear while you cue up the next track with the other. An auto return swivel mechanism brings the earcups back to the standard listening position, giving you one less thing to worry about. The 50 mm diameter drive units deliver reference-grade sound and enable superior power handling with deeper bass, lower distortion and wider dynamic range. The frequency response extends down to an extraordinary 5 Hz. 3000 mW power handling means these headphones can handle the most stringent professional applications, standing up to day-in, day-out use at very high output levels.

Pros: Bass, Bass, Bass, Screw on connector, Swiveling ear cups
Cons: Eyeglass wearers beware a headache will come....
The Bottom Line:
These headphones are worth the 150 plain and simple there is no better headphone that will cost you less that has better quality
To start things off i was noticing that some of these reviews are from 2000 2001 and sony has really changed their headphones. I had a pair of 700s back in 2001 2002 and they worked great the swivel mechanisms on it broke after about 2 years so i bought a pair of refurbished 2004's they work alot better, alot better better sound quality. If you wear glasses beware becuase the headphones push your glasses up against your head which is uncomfortable and will give you a headache. If you work in a studio i would recomend these. If you are a very serious DJ i would recomend these but if your a begginer i would recomend the 500s as they cost less and in the long run are more comfortable. Dont get me wrong these are very good headphones. They have 50mm drivers and weigh about 10 ounces. The provide great bass response which allows you to mix songs very easily. I really love the fact that these headphones have the swiveling ear cups so you can do one ear monitoring and scratching ... I aslo like that they have the screw on gold plated conectors so you dont have to worry about your 1/4 inch connector falling off or unclipping. Another thing that is very good is the fact that they fold up to be just a little bigger than the diameter of a CD and fit into a freindly little silver-blue bag provided(also availible in leather) Thats all i have to say
