BioShock is a unique game that mixes a spine-chilling setting illustrated with art deco art and architecture, sci-fi themes of bio-genetic mutation and self-modification, a deep storyline with open-choice freedom to interact with the world as you choose, and first-person action that requires you to think every time you pull the trigger. After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Great FPS Game worth every penny due to its great gameplay and Visuals.
The story of BIOSHOCK Starts When your Plane has crashes in the ocean (think lost scene in the water)
After coming up for air, your surrounded by burning wreckage and incredible graphics.
The Fire and water effects are almost Jaw Dropping in their realism. Luckily you find a piece of land which is a lighthouse that you enter to find a bathosphere which sends you into the world of Rapture, a Place created by Andrew Ryan supposedly to be a utopia which has gone horrible wrong.
Quickly you realize BIOSHOCK is not your normal FPS , as you can must search objects, and use a whole sort of special abilities through plasmids Such as incinerate, electricty, telekinesis, freezing and a few others which all must be thought out in different situations. Sometimes ice is blocking your way..which must be melted. encountering enemies surrounded by a variety of liquids are in the envirement which make you think which plasmid to use.
Pools of oils and pools of water play a key role on you choice of attacks. If this was not enough you have ablibty to hack various objects which can work to help you fight along with you. Buying items from vending machines and upgrading your powers with Adam, which can be harvested though little sisters. These Little sisters in the game are protected by big daddys. Once they are killed you can either save the little sisters or harvest the Adam from them. Another needed object is Eve which is gives power to all the Plasmids in the game. The amount of variety in this game is awesome, making you think and explore everything before continuing on. You will hear tapes which explain more about rapture and a map and hint system which always keeps you on track in case you get lost.
With all the items you can collect, the choices you can make and the puzzles you can solve simply make this a thinking mans FPS. Although pretty linear there are various places to explore and find things before continuing on. Simply A great new FPS That takes the best parts of previous games and incoporates it into the World of Rature.
