In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield. In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, players will embody Captain Scott Mitchell as he commands the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe. The game unfolds entirely in Mexico City, where numerous, meticulously researched and detailed environments will deliver complete immersion into the future of urban warfare.

This title still falls short in succeeding the original Ghost Recon

Pros: The Graphics and the Sound
Cons: Lag in Single Player, short campaign mode with little replay value
The Bottom Line:
This game falls short of where Ghost Recon and Island Thunder left off. Think of it like Ghost Recon 2 with better graphics and sound.
Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter for Xbox (NOT 360!!!!)
Likes: The graphics in the game are excellent, the detail in everything is immense. I can tell they spent a lot of time on the lighting because they got it perfect, from being able to tell the time of the day to the muzzle flashes and explosions to the most realistic rolling smoke you have ever seen in a game. The sound is equally impressive, if not utterly amazing. For example in the game you can hear the shell casing being blown around on the ground when you are being extracted by helicopter, and you can hear your rounds pierce the enemies bodies as well as your own. You can't play through the game without also noticing how important the music is too the game, it always suits the situation you are in and most of the time music is really suttle and not at all obtrusive. I really like the new cross com feature with the new cross com you can see what your teammates see, as well as order them to regroup and attack a target you specify. There are eleven missions with three of them at night. In the night missions you get to use the updated night vision, which works really well and is believable, not being too perfectly clear but not too grainy or rough.
Dislikes: In this version of the game you can't pick up weapons, you can't go prone, you can't duck behind objects, nor can you slide like in the 360. Another feature you get in the 360 that you don't get here is the ability to shoot through objects such as walls, the only thing you can shoot through in this version is car windows. I thought it was short because I beat it in a little over 5 hours, not including the other hour of loading screens where you see a circle(your helicopter) move closer to the square(battlefield) on a map. One of my biggest gripes is that there is lag in single player campaign. Along with the night vision you have something else that I guess is supposed to be some type of heat or infared vision. It really doesn't do anything and I am still puzzled as to what you are supposed to use it for, it turns the whole screen bright white and you can barely make a few things out in black. As for multiplayer, they don't clearly show on the screen your health status in co-op for you or your teammates. There is little to no replay value for the single player portion of this game, with only a quick mission mode and campaign after you have beat the game you really don't want to go back and play any of the levels again.
Summary: Red Storm and Tom Clancy have set a standard in realistic first person shooters. And with every new title they should try and make it better than the last, what I am getting to is this game falls short of where other Ghost Recon games left off. I can't give this game a thorough review because I have not played this game on Xbox Live which may or may not be a huge part of this title. This is not the 360 version of the game so there isnt any achievements to be had with Xbox Live. I was a little generous in overall rating because, I have not played this on Xbox Live and I feel that it would create replay value and multiply the fun factor ten fold. I will give this game a 6.5 overall rating.
