Unreal stunned action gamers when it was released, thanks to its lush alien environments, scripted mission events, and over-the-top complement of weapons. It raised the bar for first-person shooters both in terms of technology and single-player gameplay, and now you can experience this futuristic action- adventure for less than 10 bucks. Unreal may be old, but you would never know it by looking at the graphics. They still stand as some of the most stunning visuals ever put in an action game, and best those of many newer games we've played. Unreal 's only real stumbling block is its uninspired gameplay, which relies too much on standard "find the key" puzzles. The game is challenging regardless--most of the enemies are smart--and we found ourselves pressing ahead just to see what sort of beautiful, strange new environment we would end up in next. We also had a lot of fun playing deathmatch games against the computer-controlled "bots," which put up a heck of a fight. The artificial intelligence

Unreal, a classic at a young age. This game should achieve a higher status than pong even :-)
Unreal is the second best FPS I've ever played- only behind its big brother, Unreal Tournament. This was well worth the purchase price of $20 and it has and still does provide me with a good bloody alien fragfest.
I recently bought Unreal, probably about 6 months ago. I was hooked, even with the out of date programming. The game is very fun. It makes a big file on your hard disk though, and has high RAM requirements.
The game itself runs very well on my iMac with its measly 233 mhz processor. I play the game online alot, After all of the patching it really is a good game.
Online, there is little lag after the aforementioned patching. I have the 225 build and a cable modem ands it's as smooth as butter. I usually am killed, the Combo gets to you after awhile.
Singleplayer is where this game really shines. The storyline is very good, you will become immersed in it. Gotta love the effects. In the first 'level' there is an earthquake and you have the option of giving a dead guy the chair. Outside you pick up weapons and gaze down into a nice looking pool. After that, the game is all an uphill battle to kill those 'big guys' with the double guns. You will love it! I know I did!
The preferences are tops, you can customize a lot with skins and in multiplayer games you can be the enemies that you faced. How cool can you get?
I highly recommend this game to anyone who reads this review!
