The Lens is optimized for medium and large distances. It provides a very high and orthoscopic imaging performance, which is still increasable by stopping down. Due to its high speed, the walimex pro Lens allows the use of shorter shutter speeds or lower light sensitivity. This feature reduces the interference at digital cameras. Even at a high speed, the walimex pro Lens provides shorter shutter speed. The Lens can reduce the noise of digital cameras. For example, it facilitates the cropping of motifs in front of blurred front or backgrounds in moderate wide angle and tele range. For single lens reflex cameras, the high speed benefits the brightness of the viewfinder and facilitates the focusing. (Or rather 1600mm with optional 2x converter) The walimex 500/8.0 Mirror Tele Lens has a focal distance of 500mm and a good lens speed of 8.0. The sturdy metal housing and the high-quality workmanship and mechanics ensure a good image quality. With a very short closest focusing distance of only 1.7 metres, the lens enables very good magnification. Focusing takes place manually. The lens can be used with aperture priority and manual exposure setting. Thanks to its easy handling, the lens is also especially suitable for beginners. If the exposure leeway of the digital camera is exceeded, the enclosed neutral filters can be used for the light reduction. The image scale defines the scale between the image and the object.
