Let's start our programme by joining Simon at Blakewell Fisheries in Devon where he'll be showing us a variety of fly fishing equipment and how best to assemble it. Simon will then move on to expertly demonstrate presentation and how to catch rainbow trout on nymphs and ultimately the dry fly. There'll even be a fleeting glimpse of a nice brown trout which embarrassingly for Simon evades the final capture! We'll then go to Lenches Lake in Evesham where the inimitable Iain Barr will show us the type of tactics that made him European Champion. Ian will be fishing with a team of three nymphs all the time analysing for us his style of fishing the method's he's using and the reasoning behind his actions.Disc Two - Coarse Fishing:Wether it be pole fishing or float fishing with rod and line that's your particular bag... they're both featured here and who better to demonstrate the different techniques than three of the best anglers in the country. Disc One - Fishing With The Experts For Carp:For many anglers the ultimate fish in British waters is carp. In only twenty or so years we've seen this species capture the imagination of at least a million anglers and the carp have responded to a mass influx of food by just getting bigger and bigger. In 2001 the British Carp Record was over 59lbs... the same fish has been caught again recently and now weighs a staggering 61lbs. How long can this retain the British title? The goal of most fanatical carp anglers is the capture of a 30lbs specimen in British waters in this programme we will see that other extraordinary species Des Taylor do just that....twice! Des is one of the most entertaining and informative presenters in today's angling world and certainly is one of the better journalists. He demonstrates excellently the beauty of simplicity... landing all his fish on the simplest of rigs. Des really knows his stuff and after watching him...hopefully you'll know his stuff too! In this DVD Des imparts an abundance of essential information; which if put into practice on the right fishery will definitely help you to achieve...or even exceed your angling goals. Whether you're an expert or a novice there's something here for everyone. Firstly though to wet your appetite; see the founding father of modern carping Kevin Maddocks in action at Ringstead Fisheries with a 46lbs fish and his good mate Rob Hales tackling one of over 30lbs. (Incidentally keep your eyes peeled for a couple of cracking catfish caught by fellow anglers during the same session). Enjoy the programme and tight lines!Disc Two - Fishing With The Experts For Pike:For many years fishing for pike was considered only as a seasonal option. Not now! When carp and coarse fishermen are waiting anxiously for the arrival of spring the intrepid angler in need of winter action has a serious predator to consider. In this programme we're going to join Mick Brown considered one of the best pike anglers in the UK. Mick explains the tackle he'll be using and shows us some of his massive array of artificial lures. Firstly he'll demonstrate his skills in the comparative comfort of the early summer months landing pike from a secluded estate lake. Deadbaits and exciting lure fishing are the order of the day. With the passing of the seasons we join Mick on the snow covered banks of a gravel pit in the depths of East Anglia where we learn the tactics needed to entice pike in pristine condition to take float fished or ledgered deadbaits. Then we'll move on to the river and during a blizzard...learn from Mick how to catch pike from an anchored boat using the livebait method. To finish off we briefly meet up with that other extraordinary species Des Taylor as he successfully hunts for the elusive twenty pounder! Mick Brown and then Des Taylor in the same keep net? What a catch!Disc Three - Fishing With Experts For Barbel:Pound for pound the barbel has to be the strongest fighting fish in UK freshwater. It is always a surprise and a pleasure to see the size that this particular species of river fish can grow to and to get a barbel on your line is compelling angling indeed. What better way to learn the necessary skills than from top all-round angler Des Taylor and his contemporary; none other than the four times World Coarse Angling Champion Bob Nudd MBE. In this programme we start our barbel fishing education under the guidance of Des Taylor in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside on the River Teme. Des explains where to look for your quarry what tackle to use and which baits give you the best chance of catching the much sought after barbel. We'll then move on to watch our old friend Bob Nudd MBE as he does battle on the River Wye with not only the fish but also the good old English weather.

You've never got a fishing rod on you when you want one. Oh how we remember all those times strolling along the banks of the Limpopo when up pops the fin of a marlin or perhaps we hear the splash of a leaping sword-fish and darn it if we've forgotten a fishing rod. If only we'd had a Pocket Fishing Rod to hand? Of course marlin and swordfish are not fresh-water fish and we've never been to the Limpopo but it sounded more appealing than watching a dead perch floating in the Grand Union Canal. We're getting off the point somewhat (again!). Ok this clever little gadget is about the size of a large marker pen at only eight inches long and yet opens up to become an aluminium alloy 4ft fishing rod complete with a left and right handed reel (packed separately) a 5lb breaking strain line and even includes a triple hook spinner. Never again will you be caught short when you spot a fish rise and it's small enough to carry with you everywhere! Please note: To cast the Pocket Fishing Rod line you need to pull some slack from the reel. The reel will not automatically cast just by flicking the rod.

2⅝ oz. 9', 4-piece, Full-Flex Fly Rod for 6-wt. line. When you need to hit that foam line just out of reach, and make that impossible drift seem less daunting, pick up the rod that can do both with ease. Ideal for fishing dries on large rivers and streams, the Superfine Touch 906-4 is the ultimate combination of power and finesse. With a 9-foot reach and Full-Flex action, it's the perfect rod to keep on the driftboat for those days when insane hatches leave you wide-eyed and the fish still require a soft presentation. Strong enough to cast through the wind, without sacrificing any delicacy, it will handle any fish and any cast with equal parts strength and touch. Made in Manchester, Vermont.

Disc One - Pike FishingBig fish expert Des Taylor takes us bait fishing for pike at Thorpe Park in Surrey. He explains and displays in some detail the rigs methods and a number of the best fish baits. Different fish such as trout roach and mackerel are used. Des catches good double-figure pike on his chosen methods finishing with a fine 20 pounder. How to cast play unhook and carefully return each fish is shown and the film is enjoyable as well as instructive.Disc Two - Still Water FishingKeith Arthur has been acknowledged as one of the best anglers in the country. In this programme he demonstrates the art of still-water fishing. Fishing a lake eleven foot deep he shows how to fish the Waggler and the Sliding Float and also discusses the art of shotting and most importantly feeding. He also catches a lot of fish. Filmed with the cooperation of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.Disc Three - River FishingJan Porter first made his name on the River Trent in the early 1980s fishing the swimfeeder. Be it block and feeder with maggot or the open ended feeder using caster and hemp combinations Jan has very few equals when employing this devastating method. In this film Jan deals with every facet of the method looking at rods lines and the multitude of swimfeeders on the market today. He also looks at the problems confronting the pleasure angler when facing running water and demonstrates the importance of balancing the feeder to the flow. This is the complete programme for the would-be feeder fisherman.

7'6", 4-piece, Full-Flex Fly Rod for 4-wt. line. Our fly fishing rod features a traditional un-sanded chassis with a brand new graphite engine. The original Superfine rods were Orvis' first graphite rods and through the years retained a loyal following of anglers who prize the delicacy and unhurried precision of the original fullflex rods. That original Superfine heritage returns in the new Superfine Touch Seriesa series that incorporates the newest in Orvis carbon-based composites. These are impregnated with a new epoxybased resin system with plasticizers for a toughened resin system, offering the lightest and most powerful graphite ever. Combined with our Exclusive Load Ratio design, this Superfine Touch graphite fly fishing rod is classic in look and fullflex performance, but smoother casting and lighter than ever before possible. Fullflex never felt so good.
