The Nikon D5000 was my first experience with a professional camera. I love it! It comes everywhere with me. It was very easy to understand. Once i got it out of the package and got the battery charged, which didn't take nearly as long as i expected it to, I just started snapping random pictures of everything. I soon found out that they're a lot of editing setting on the camera itself. Such as cropping, brightness editing, color changing, and so on. There's also many ISO setting on it, which I found very nice. I took a two week trip to France with this camera. I only had to charge the battery once while I was over there, and I had the camera on almost all day everyday. With the trip I took we walked all day everyday and they're many times that it got hit by people walking by and once I dropped it, it stood up very well to all of my abuse. The only problem i had was once my camera got hit and the focus got messed up. I didn't know what had happened at the time, so it took me about an hour to fix it. Once I got over that, i had no other problems. Overall I would recommend this camera to anyone.
