Unreal Tournament 2004 is the next evolution of the first-person action game. The addition of new modes mods and maps as well as the controllable land air and space-based vehicles means Unreal fans are getting an entirely new experience featuring devastating vehicular combat and wide-scale warfare. The much heralded single-player oriented game type returns with all-out battles with land space and air-based vehicles on the home worlds of various Unreal Tournament 2004 combatants. In one scenario players will experience the adrenaline rush of space-based battle while attacking or defending a Skaarj mother ship. Another scenario takes place on Xan Kriegor's mechanical home world where players attack or defend a robot construction factory. There are plans for six assault scenarios in the game. Unreal Tournament 2004 has a new multi-player-oriented combat game on custom-built large-scale maps featuring awesome new weapons and land and air based vehicles. From the lethal bomber to the nefarious spider mines--players will work as teams to control map points and win the conflict. There are plans for the game to include nine onslaught maps. The game will include 20 never-before-seen maps for the existing game types featuring tons of new textures new static meshes and new music. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is the eagerly awaited sequel to its predecessor Tekken Tag Tournament which was released in 2000. Over ten long years have passed whilst Tekken fans all over the globe have waited with bated breath for this game and finally it's here. Revolutionised revamped and vastly superior to the first released over a decade ago Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is sure to make the wait worthwhile. TTT 2 boasts the the largest character roster in Tekken history with over 45 playable characters in total including all 42 from Tekken 6. Old and familiar faces once again make an appearance ranging from Jinpachi Mishima from Tekken 5 to True Ogre and the beloved Jun Kazama from the original Tekken Tag Tournament amongst many others. This wide range of characters is a definite must have in this game as combat relies completely on your talents and skills as a team. Each player selects two characters to fight with with the option to switch either out at any time within the battle. A nice little helping hand in this game is that whilst a character is inactive they will gradually regain any health they lost during battle. A wide variety of attacks can be performed within this game with combos being set up directly from tags and extended tag combos and combined moves all playing a major part in crushing your foes. A new technique that has been introduced is the combined tag throws which when performed correctly can set off a cut scene that will lead to your opponent being K.O.'d. These throws can also be escaped from if you time it well. There are also tag throws/assaults which can be done simultaneously with both characters performing the combo at the same time. There is a reintroduction of “bound” hits which smash an airborne opponent in to the ground and allows the combo to be extended; this is made much more effective with the tag team aspect. There is an innovative tag partner rage system within this game which occurs when the character you're playing takes a certain number of hits. When this happens the inactive character's bar flashes indicating that they're fully charged; this means that when you tag this character in they will have a strength boost induced in battle. The arenas in which you fight have also been improved making them walled and interactive. The walls can break when a character hits them opening up and leading the fight into a new area. Due to the tag team system there are new rules of judging round wins or losses: a player will lose the round if either of their characters K.O. and if time runs out before a defeat then the player with the most health left combined will stand victorious. Team up the best two characters and take down every opponent you come across in this fast-paced hard hitting action packed game. Use agility strength and devise the best attack combinations that you can muster in order to be crowned the Tekken Tag Tournament champion. When SWAT 3 was first released it faced two major criticisms, namely a short mission list and a lack of multiplayer options. Both of these have been addressed by the Elite Edition, which sports a total of 21 missions and full multiplayer support for up to five players in deathmatch, or co-operative games. Add to this a well-organised mod interface for facilitating further enhancements to the game as they are developed and a fully fledged scenario editor and you can no longer aim a lack of longevity as a fair criticism at this game.With these issues dealt with, you are left with the most impressive portrayal of tactical squad action in the first-person shooter genre to date. Set in the near future in Los Angeles, you are placed at the head of a five-man armed response team of the LAPD. A World peace conference plays the backdrop to justify all the "crazies" coming out of the woodwork, which provides you with a stream of linear missions ranging from hostage situations to disarming missiles; and all set in "real-life" locations.While the likes of Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament offer "all guns blazing" action, subtlety is the order of the day in SWAT 3. A single bullet can put you down and with no health pack round the corner to come to your rescue; you need to employ guile and most importantly teamwork to survive. Unlike games of a similar style, such as Rainbow Six, this teamwork isn't planned prior to the missions, rather it is managed on the fly with a number-driven tiered command system for your two-man teams. It works beautifully for the most part and with a scaleable AI, you can ensure both your compatriots and the suspects put up a convincing display. This, combined with superb audio, that blends information and suspense through radio chatter, well-modelled graphics and tense gameplay, makes SWAT 3 Elite Edition a worthy addition to any gamers collection. --Jason Weston Minimize
