Limited edition of 1100 pieces worldwide complete with numbered certificate. Project C28, as the 309 was known during its development, started out as a saloon version of the 205, but by the time it was launched in 1985 it had morphed into a hatchback 330mm longer and just 72kg heavier than the 205. It retained the smaller car's door pressings to save tooling costs and the GTI version modelled here also shared its Type XU single overhead cam engine with the 205 GTI. The 309 GTI was launched in February 1987 and soon became a cult car amongst enthusiasts, combining the 205's famous handling prowess and performance with an interior large enough to be used by a family.

Overview Specification Further Info Ruston Bucyrus was formed in 1937 after the merger between Ohio based Bucyrus Erie and Lincoln based Ruston and Hornsby Ltd. The company soon became recognised for their large excavators and by the mid century were one of the leading manufacturers of mining and quarrying machines. Within the industry the RB machines were viewed as one of the better quality and longer lasting machines of their time. The Face Shovel, often referred to as a 'crowd shovel', was mainly used for shovelling materials from high faces of heaped material such as coal or gravel. This made the RB19 suitable for working railway yards, it was often used to load gravel into wagons which would then later be transported for railway embankment repairs or the laying of new track. The Corgi Trackside collection features a great selection on die-cast road transport vehicles with authentic liveries ideal for both the 1:76 scale collector and the OO railway modeller. The Trackside range is the perfect accessory for a railway layout or a themed diorama. The Trackside range includes cars, vans, trucks, emergency services and themed sets. ... Read more
This legendary haulage company started in the 1890's with a horse and cart to transport freshly caught herring from the Fraserburgh harbour in the North East of Scotland. When motorised transport became the norm, fish continued to be a major part of their work. Over their long history, Gibbs operated a wide variety of vehicles from Bedford's and Albion's to AEC's and Leyland's. When they began to specialise in temperature-controlled transport, they favoured Atkinson rigids and then artics. Later ERF's became the dominant marque before DAF made their presence felt, initially with the 2800 and 3300 models and then with their 95 range. In the 1990s, a number of Scania 113 Streamlines were operated, one of which was N695 USO with the fleet name 'Spirit of Scotland'. Sadly in 2002 Gibbs decided to call it a day and ceased their operation. At the end the fleet consisted of Volvo FH12s, Scania 4 series and Iveco Eurostars.

In the 1930s, railway companies were starting to feel the increased competition from air and road travel as the demand for speed, efficiency and luxury grew. These pressures meant LNER had to develop their locomotives to enable them to compete. During the 1920s a series of experiments to improve performance were carried out on the A1s. This resulted in the birth of the A3 Class in July 1927 when 2544 'Enterprise' was converted from an A1 to an A3. As well as converting A1s, there were twenty seven A3s constructed from new, one of which being 2795 'Call Boy' as modelled here as the second Corgi Rail Legends model release. 'Call Boy' entered service on 19th April 1930 and worked for over thirty-three years and spent it entirety allocated to Edinburgh at both St Margaret's and Haymarket engine sheds. When three months old, 'Call Boy' was attached to a corridor type tender and was frequently used on the famous non-stop 'Flying Scotsman' run between London and Edinburgh. Unlike the early great northern type tenders, the corridor enabled fireman and drivers to be able to pass between the locomotive and carriages so they could rotate crews without having to stop the train. This model depicts 'Call Boy' between 1930 and 1937 when it had a LNER apple green livery, dome type boiler and single chimney. Scale: 1:120 Length: 180mm Age Suitability: 14+

VA11403 - Vauxhall Nova 1.3 Sport Group A - 1988 Lombard RAC Rally Harry Hockly and Nicky Grist Vauxhall Dealer Sport approached successful Mini driver Harry Hockly to help develop their promising new Nova into a Group A rally car for the 1984 season. The car showed promise, and Harry subsequently worked with GM Dealer Sport to produce the Nova Sport Group A homologation package. Harry rallied Novas until he retired from the sport in 1989, achieving numerous class victories, winning the British Rally Championship three times, and finishing in the top three in his class on five consecutive RAC rallies between 1984 and 1989. The car modelled finished second in class on the 1988 RAC after being delayed by a broken driveshaft. Did you know? To avoid costly type approval the Nova Sport included a kit, found in the boot of the car, containing all the parts needed to give a 1.3-litre Nova the performance to be competitive in rallying. This included twin Weber 40 DCOE carburettors, which allowed the engine to produce 117bhp@6500rpm.

Entering service in 1930, the Hawker Hart was possibly the most versatile aircraft of the 'Inter war' period. Designed by Sydney Camm as a two-seat day bomber, it spawned a family of variants that included a fighter, seaplane, reconnaissance aircraft, dive bomber and trainer. No. 600 (City of London) Squadron RAuxAF was formed at RAF Northolt on 14th October 1925. It moved to RAF Hendon at the end of 1926, replacing its DH.9As, with more modern Westland Wapitis in 1929. It was designated a fighter squadron in July 1934. K2986 was part of a batch of Harts delivered to 600 Squadron in January 1935, pending the arrival of Hawker Demons. They were distinguished by the squadron's colourful red and white markings worn on the upper wing and fuselage sides. By 1937 the conversion to Demons was complete and K2986 was shipped as SR-4 to the Southern Rhodesian Air Force for use in the advanced training and army-co-operation role.

Coles Cranes were founded in 1879 by Henry James Coles of whom had originally started out as a sawmill machine manufacturer. At this time, Britain was in the height of an industrial revolution, which meant there was a requirement for machinery that could contribute to the building of Britain's infrastructure. Early Coles Cranes were powered by steam and were used predominately on the railways to support the growth of the rail network. By the 1930s Coles were manufacturing 'Deck Cranes', these were specifically designed to lift goods and move them short distances and were ideal for working in yards or on construction sites. The 6 Ton Argus Crane was first manufactured in 1954 and Argus was the strongest of all the Coles cantilever cranes. Over 50 years on they can still be found in working order in boat yards and on preserved railways. Arguably the most significant historic aircraft to ever perform on the UK Airshow circuit was Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 'Black 6'. Powered by a genuine Daimler Benz DB605 engine, this magnificent aeroplane captivated audiences with its unique sound and allowed the opportunity to experience a genuine Axis fighter in the flesh! It was a real show stopper and looked great on the tail of a Spitfire! For an all too brief six year period, 'Black 6', thrilled airshow audiences as the only genuine Axis fighter on the display circuit. Unfortunately, it was decided that she was too valuable an aircraft to be risked by flight demonstration, but on her last public display at Duxford in October 1997, she suffered a landing accident, which caused significant damage to the aircraft - her flying days were finally over. 'Black 6' can now be found on display at the RAF Museum, Hendon.

The signs were there at a young age that Edward would become a successful business man, in his early teens he worked with his father as part of his Agricultural business. Using his father's delivery trucks he expanded the haulage side of the business and in 1976 formed Eddie Stobart Haulage Company with eight trucks and twelve employees. From here, onwards the business grew to what it is now; Britain's most recognised haulier employing over five thousand people. This set commemorates Edwards's career with one of his early trucks in the Scania 111 and a Scania 4 Series with a curtain side trailer from the peak of Edwards career. In the mid-1970s, Edward Stobart moved from Hesket, Newmarket near Caldbeck to his first depot, 1 Greystone Road in Carlisle. At that time the fleet consisted of eight lorries, a mixture of DAF 2200s and 2800s, a Seddon Atkinson and this Scania, registration number KA0 23P, and named Julia. In this era, Edward was a 'jack of all trades' and would certainly have driven this Scania when required.v

Sunter Brothers go back to the early part of the century when four brothers founded the business. Tom Fire, one of the brothers drove trucks during the Great War and from this recognised that there was money to be made in transportation of goods. By the 1930s the brothers were running motor lorries of their own, plying their trade as hauliers of hay, livestock feeds and coal. By 1957 Tom Fire had secured a contract with Bradwell Boilers which gave them their famous name in the heavy haulage industry. As well as this, Sunter Brothers were also used to transport large construction vehicles making this model an ideal companion to the RB19 and Coles Crane. The Corgi Trackside collection features a great selection on die-cast road transport vehicles with authentic liveries ideal for both the 1:76 scale collector and the OO railway modeller. ... Read more
Anna Nicole Wig Blond Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, that's well-known in Hollywood. And tragically the Grim reaper is a gentleman, too. And so it came that he took two of the most famous blondes before they had a chance to finish their careers. One of the most splendid movie stars of 20th century was, is and always will be Marilyn Monroe. Classic movies like Some Like It Hot, Niagara or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes made the blond diva world famous. On August 5, 1962 Marilyn Monroe died under circumstances that remain mysterious up to this very day and became a legend. Another blonde who kind of followed suit was former H&M model Anna Nicloe Smith. In Europe the lush Playboy model and sex bomb shot to fame in 1993 with the advertising campaign of the well-known Swedish fashion brand. The fotos of Ann Nicole caused car crashes and fans stole her pictures from the advertising spaces. In 1994 she had her debut with the comedy Naked Gun 33 1/3. When, also in 1994, at the age of 26, she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J.Howard Marshall, she caused a scandal that made her famous all over the world. On February 8, 2007Anna Nicle Smith died of an accidental drug overdose. Although several conspiracy theories saw other people involved in her death, just like it happened with her idol Marilyn Monroe, the official report states that her death was not considered to be due to homicide or suicide. So two of Hollywood's most famous blondes will remain forever unforgotten same as their platinum blond hair and their beauty spot will remain forever fashionable. The platinum blond ondulated wig is made of shoulder-length synthetic hair and will make your elegant movie star...

Rapidough, a fast-paced game which develops the competitive artistic concept a little further, will appeal to fans of Pictionary too. Using a measured amount of modelling clay, players must communicate words to the other member of their teams. The game requires four or more players, to work in two or three teams and players from eight to eighty can enjoy the fun. Players must form themselves into teams with as many members in each as they like and choose from the red, yellow or blue pots of dough. Using the plastic modelling tools, on the mats supplied, players try to communicate words to other members of their teams. Included are lots of words on double-sided word cards which are sure to be a challenge to model. The three types of word cards each provoke a different mode of play. There are cards with one word which modellers on all teams must attempt, cards with three words in different colours with which each team must attempt the word in their corresponding dough colour and cards with three words of the same colour from which modellers may choose the word they feel is easiest. At first examination the rules to these three possible modes can seem somewhat complicated, but once play has started, teams will pick them up quickly. The words which modellers must attempt range from easily achievable, (like bottle, horseshoes, chimney) to downright mindboggling (haggis, duct, extrude). The task becomes even more challenging when the amount of dough which can be used is discovered. Each attempt at modelling must use only the small measure of dough allotted by the plugger, an ingenious device which is plunged into the mass of dough and extracts the appropriate amount. Contestants must then do the best they can to form the dough in to a model of the required word, while their team-mates try to guess what the work of art before them could possibly represent. Since the dough is water-based and will dry out after extended periods of time--to maintain the dough, knead small amounts of water into it, and after each game wrap the dough in Clingfilm and keep it in its container with the lid securely fastened. A great game for the whole family, or for competitive grown-ups. --Rachel EdissThe game comes with: Three containers of coloured modelling dough Three modelling mats Three modelling tools One plugger 500 double-sided word cards One doughbank

AA39202 - Spitfire MkI - K9789, Sqn Ldr Henry Cozens, No 19 Squadron, Royal Air Force, Duxford, Aug 1938 19 Squadron was the first to receive Spitfires which replaced their open cockpit, fixed undercarriage Gauntlets biplanes. For pilots, the Spitfire was a huge step forward in technology. K9789 was the first and was flown by Squadron Leader Cozens on 11th August 1938. At this time there were no training units or even manuals and pilots were provided with only basic instructions before making their first flights. Orders were received to use K9789 for intensive trials and over 400 hours were flown by squadron pilots in a very short space of time and the findings reported. Various propeller types were used and it was found that the constant speed propeller was the best. As a result, all operational Spitfires were fitted with them before the start of the War. A bulged canopy was also recommended and adopted on future production aircraft along with other suggestions. K9789 survived the war but was scrapped in 1945.

Corgi is proud to present the The London 2012 Die-cast Pictogram Figurine Collection #1 Football This collection of die-cast figurines is based on the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic pictograms which represent the sporting disciplines at the Games. These models are perfect to mark this historical event and we hope that this collection will become a lasting legacy of a monumental moment in sporting history. There are thirty hand-finished figurines in the collection each of which has been designed by Corgi in the UK. Each figurine is up to 5cm tall and is presented on a shard shaped base of between 9cm and 11cm with a 3-D Olympic or Paralympic London 2012 emblem cast in the front of the base.
