I've had two shopping experiences with Pixmania, the first for my Canon 10D, which was an excellent transaction all around. The second was a couple of months later, for a Minolta digicamera. 24 hours after placing my order online, I gota message to say that I had to fax or email a JPeg of ID like a passport and proof of address and that this now applied to all orders. Sorry, I've got better things to do...like online convenient shopping. Is that what customers get for their loyalty? Needless to say, I cancelled my order, on principle even though they were the cheapest. They's better change their policy before they go out of business.

Read the reviews and all sounded promising. Website hype sounded great too "if order placed before 1pm your order will be despatched within 24hrs" 5 days later I am still waiting. After 15 minute wait on phone for customer service girl who came on could only say she can see no reason for delay, no promise of action or anything (not very helpful). Not impressed so far with Pixmania's promises.

Delivery on order was 2 days late in spite of requesting and paying for express delivery (24 hours).
Order has still not been completed. Overall a very poor service.
Printer arrived with French insructions and inspite of my chasing an english version it has not arrived.

Oreded an ipod which was apparently in stock. After not getting deliverly for 4 days contacted the company who then informed me it was out of stock but should be here in 1 week. One week later have contacted the company who were unable to give me date stocks will be arriving. I note that on their site they indicate it is curently 'in stock'. Awful.

This company is useless. Don't be fooled by the nice looking website as underneath it is a very poorly managed operation and you will end up disappointed. I ordered a digital camera on the 10th of December, stock expected on the 15th. On the 15th, this changed to the 8th of January - fair enough as it's over Christmas. On 4th January, the website showed in stock and Customer services informed me I'd have it by the 7th. January 6th - I phone customer services to get confirmation that I would be receiving the order on the 7th and they tell me that stock is now expected on the 19th - with no explanation nor apology. I checked today and stock is now expected on the 30th. I cancelled the rest of my order and I'm waiting for a refund. I reiterate this company is useless. Don't shop at Pixmania.

The only good thing about Pixmania was the price. I ordered a Sony TRV345 and tapes to match. They sent it two days late, failed to tell me, so I had to stay in for two days instead of one. They sent mini DV tapes instead of HI8. Customer service was slow, and failed to apologise. Inflexible and un-customer-friendly rules meant that a refund had to be made rather than the incorrect tapes exchanged. They promised to refund the postage and failed. I had communications from 3 different staff, and it appeared that each of them thought they were the only persons dealing with the problem. Hopeless...

Absolutely Shocking Customer Service !!!!!!!!!
I will be concise with my review, because I have already wasted enough of my time on the telephone to their customer service department (after I eventually managed to get through).
To cut a long story short I ordered a printer and some paper as a birthday present 3 weeks ago. The printer still hasn't arrived and I have been told that it will not be in stock for another 3 weeks.
In the meantime the price of the printer has now gone up by 25 pounds. So even if I accepted their offer of my money back I would be unable to purchase a replacement printer elsewhere. Therefore I am faced with, at best, a 6 week wait for the goods after I have paid for them.
But my major problem is with the seeming arrogance of the customer support staff and in particular of the customer services manager. Despite being politely asked numerous times, she has refused to speak with me, prefering to relay messages via the telepehone operators.
I would urge any one contemplating dealing with these people to consider their choice very carefully. In my opinion I would spend that extra couple of pounds and buy from a reputable source instead. You maybe OK if they have the item you require in stock, but if not then buyer beware.
I certainly will never be dealing with them again.

Canon digital camera ordered from Pixmania arrived promtly, however user manual and all documentation is in French. Battery charger ordered with camera was manufactured with European two pin plug. An adapter was supplied but does not fit correctly.
Customer service abysmal. It is necessary to contact a third party publisher and pay £13 for an English language version of the manual or alternatively download a copy from the Canon Asia website. I would expect UK product from a UK website. AVOID.

My camcorder which i paid express delivery for took 3 days, blamed on the weather no refund given,,,after 9 months the camcorder went faulty , pixmania said to contact jvc , jvc sais contact pixmania,,posted it to pixmania it took 3 weeks to arrive after they said they had lost it, cost £12.00 to post to france, could not get throught the phone lines are always blocked they leave you on hold for ages with an annoying tune,,,,the camcorders are now as cheap at asda with no returns hassle or delay

Do not shop at Pixmainia! I ordered a MP3 player for my daughter on December 15th and was guaranteed for xmas and the product has not been delivered and its nearly MARCH!!! I have had many emails stating the "supervisor" is dealing with this personally and i will receive a refund within 48 hours but none yet. This happened with a dvd player aswell and i finally recieved the product 3 months later with a 2 pin plug. At least i can watch my films on holiday in France.

This I emailed a scan but my order was not processed until Friday. Deliveries are not made at weekends so it was finally was delivered 2/2/04. All worked fine but has a continental plug. Would not use them if a UK supplier is available.

I ordered a combo-offer (green zen micro + extra battery for 1 Euro) with matching speakers.
Speakers were delivered after a week; I called customer support: the combo was suddenly out of stock and will never be in stock. Their solution: just return the speakers and cancel the order, which I did; the hassle is getting the my shipping costs (twice) back.
The alternative was to change the color and forget about the battery offer; but then I had to make an extra order for the matching speakers.

Purchased Epson RX500 All-In-One. Showed in stock when placed order over internet then received email to say the product was out of stock for 8-10 days. Product did not arrive in this time frame but after a few emails to customer services (who had no clue as to when they might clap eyes on one)it eventually arrived. However the product received was not a UK spec i.e French Manual, Software, Power lead and printer control panel. When I contacted them they asked me to purchase a uk kit from Epson and they would refund the cost. Epson seemed to be a little annoyed at Pixmania's purchasing practices. Anyway still waiting for uk kit well over a month from original order. Only good thing about the experience was the price (oh, and my french is improving) but would have paid more to avoid the hastle. Can't recommend them as I do feel they new what they were doing when they fobbed me off with a French spec product. If you are still awake, thanks for listening.

They took my money but the product was repeatedly delayed despite promises regularly that it was due in soon. It required me to chase on a regular basis and meant that the birthday was completely missed. If they had informed me at the beginning of the supply problems I would have ordered elsewhere but they kept promising it would arrive soon.
In the end I was forced to cancel the order and buy elsewhere, from where it was delivered within 1 day. I will never even consider shopping there again and would strongly recommend to anyone else to avoid, their customer service is appalling.

Pixmania provided a very good service (website is good, delivery was excellent) EXCEPT for one major issue. What they don't make clear is that they are a French company based in Paris and as a result the manuals and power cord are French too. OK - yes, can download the manuals and buy an adaptor, but it is very irritating to find this out afterwards. They should make this clear when you order the products. A good service spoilt by this issue and as a result I can't recommend them.

Ordered the scanner, received a confirmation email. Two hours later received another email to say it was out of stock and would be 8 - 10 working days before delivery. Emailed them to ask if my credit card had been debited and yes, of course it had! Cancelled the order as I needed it before that time - very disappointed.

I purchased a Razr V3 mobile phone from Pixmania.
The phone i recieved was for the french market, set up in french and with no english manual. This was not stated on their website.
I returned the phone within a week and received acknowledgement and a promise of a refund via email. Over a month later, despite emails and phone calls they have still not fully refunded my money and are now denying even receiving the returned phone.

The packaging was battered and partially open, and the product was rattling around inside. I would say it was down to luck that the camcorder wasn't damaged.
My main complaint is that the product sold does not comply with British standards. ie Sony actually state that all products sold in the UK will have the correct plug fitted. Mine arrived with a 2 pin plug, with a 3 pin plug thrown into the box! As the fitted plug is fused on, there is no way of changing it without cutting it off, which I am not going to do. At around the same time my daughter bought a digital camera from Pixmania, with exactly the same 2 pin and therefore wrong plug attached. For this reason I will never order from them again under any circumstances.

i ordered the printer, and was then sent an email a day later saying that the product was out of stock (which Pixmania hadn't mentioned when i ordered the product) and would take an extra 8-10 days. when I went to check up on the progress of my order towards the end of this period, I found that they hadn't acknowledged it. Subsequent emails to Pixmania earned no reply. One of my most frustrating online purchases ever!

After ordering a digi cam from Pixmania, I read poor reviews that said cust service was poor and that the goods were not UK spec. E.g. There was no indication on their site that goods come with a continental plug. I decided I wanted to cancel the order.
1st step - I sent an email to cancel - no reply.
2nd step - I eventually got through to a customer services rep by phone who said the order would be cancelled. He was quite rude. Later in the day I checked the order staus which had pregressed from 'pending' to 'being prepared'.
I sent another email requesting confirmation on cancellation - no reply.
After another 15 mins waiting on the telephone I spoke to another person who said it was too late and the product had been despatched. They said don't worry, just don't accept the goods and they will be returned free of charge. I refused this solution as my Credit card would only be creditted when the received the goods. I had to be very assertive to persuade them to take steps to ensure the order was cancelled there and then. Lets see what happens next....
I'm ordering from Amazon now who are only £10 more expensive - a small price to pay!

I purchased a Pentax Optio 555 digital camera. This was delivered on time, but I found that the instruction manual and plugs were all French. I sent an e-mail, but received no reply, but did manage to get through by phone the next day. I was told that this was mentioned in the technical section, but they admitted that it was not very clear. They told me to buy an adaptor which would only cost about £1 and that they would e-mail me the manual in English. I was not happy about this so I said I wanted to return the camera. I was told that they would need to e-mail me the procedure. I would have to pay for the postage and the fax the receipt to them and they would refund it to my account. I have still not received the e-mail and I have no address to which to return the camera. I am now unable to get through by phone even though it is 1pm and the office is meant to be open from 0830 - 1700.

Do NOT order anything from this company. I ordered a TV from them at the beginning of January as according to their website, they had stock. The money was taken from my credit card immediately but I received an email from them the next day stating that they did not have stock and had no idea when they would be able to fulfil my order. I requested a full refund but despite being a month down the line and making at least 5 telephone calls, I have yet to receive my refund.
