Pros: Improved sensor and AF system, faster response, large viewfinder, flash control, quieter mirror, price, ... Cons: Some consider the changes "too little", no integrated wireless flash controller Bottom Line: Professional Capabilities that an Amatuer can Appreciate
Pros: Canon reputation for quality and professional features in a unit simple enough for amateurs. Cons: Heavier, larger than an entry-level SLR. Buttons can be accidently pressed in normal use. Bottom Line: Canon EOS 40D vs Canon EOS 50D (actual user report) :-)
