Canon Rebel 2000-even journalists (like me) use and love it!
Pros: Pictures are so good they make someone with no photography experience look like a pro; easy to use; light weight; lots of features Cons: Expensive. Not the type of camera you would hand to a stranger on the street and ask "Can you take a picture of me in front of this fountain?" Go shoot a lion!! (with this camera)
