The Call of Duty franchise is the very best war shooters series out there. I've never been disappointed by the series. Sure, there are other war shooters out there like Medal Of Honor, but Call of Duty is strictly a franchise that is hell-bent on making the player experience an unforgettable time playing a mere videogame. Call of Duty 2 was the first sequel to come onto the Xbox 360 and it was hailed the best shooter on Xbox 360 back then. A year year, Call of Duty 3 was released on the same console and fans welcomed it with arms wide open. Now, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is here and it's impact has caused great enjoyment and "What the f*ck? Did you just see that?" moments to come into the player's living room.

This year's Call of Duty has changed a great deal and for the better as well. No longer are we back in the past(World War days), but yet we are in the present. Fighting as a British SAS Marine and a US Marine. Modern Warfare's story has the player playing two people throughout the game. The insane Al-Assad has risen to power while having the President assassinated on live TV(which you will through the eyes as the President as this happens) while Russia is at the stake of Civil War. It is the job of the players to take down Al-Assad and bring Russia back to peace. I really like how the developers turned their pages from the past to the present because the entire game feels fresh. I also think that many of the fans of the series will find it enjoyable as well because we all get tired of playing the World Wars over and over.

Although, the story has changed to greater elements, the game-play only slightly changed. If you've played the past games in this franchise, you'll feel welcomed. The only things that have changed is some of the weapons, plus the different setting and not to mention those crafty nightvision-googles do come quite in handy. The game still follows the previous installments by having fluid and smooth controls which only makes your job easier as the battles become more intense as you progress.

I must make a paragraph on all about the things you'll experience in Modern Warfare because it is simply unique and quite unforgettable. From the very start(even your training) you will have sweat dripping from your forehead and it doesn't really let up until the very last fight. Most of these missions have a variety of different things you'll be doing. Your first mission has you investigating a ship on a dark and stormy night. By the end of your missions, the ship will start to sink and your team will panic and have to duck, dodge and survive to get out of there alive. While plenty of obstacles will danger your way to safety. One level has you helping your team mates out at every junction. Sound lame, huh? Well, at every junction, you'll be thrown out of a helicopter and as you clear out the area, you'll get back on the helicopter and be flying to the next junction and repeat. Probably everyone's favorite has to deal with not making a noise as you crawl(with camo suit on) through an army of soldiers and tanks. That is only one intense and sweat-dripping level. There are many more intense and unforgettable missions in Modern Warfare that I will not spoil to you.

It is the best looking Call of Duty out there now. It is probably also the best looking game out on the Xbox 360. Game Informer called it "the most photo-realistic video game we've ever seen" and they are not lying. The environments is incredibly detailed while you can see the even the slightest pore on a person's face. Explosions, smoke, fire, rain, etc. is also incredibly accurate. At occasions, I can sure bet you that you'll stop and look at the setting for at least a few dozen seconds while you're playing. It is also the best sound a videogame has yet to date.

I really can't say much more that hasn't been said that others haven't said already. Call of Duty 4 is a videogame everyone must own. It is an experience that you'll only get from the Call of Duty franchise. You'll definitely play this game again and again once your done with your first playthrough.
