Good Clear Sound - Not Enough Bass

Author's Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: Small package; Easy to set up; Crisp clear sound from the little speakers.

Cons: Muffled bass sound; Steep price.

The Bottom Line:
A bit overpriced for the overall sound. Don't buy it if you like a solid bass sound.

Author's Review
I bought this system because of the Bose reputation. However, I was disappointed with this system because I was used to my old Bozak speakers, which had 4 tweeters, 2 (12") woofers and one midrange in each speaker.
I guess my expectations from a Bose system was too high (I also paid a lot for what I got).
I play my stereo very loud because I usually play my drums with it. Therefore, when I went looking for speakers, I wanted to buy a system that had a good solid sound with a lot of bass (like my Bozak speakers). I did not get that with this system.
I was impressed with the clarity coming out of the little speakers. They're amazing!! However, the bass sound is very muffled, and certainly not what I expected from a Bose system.
A letter from the Bose Corporation (included in the package says that Bose "strive to avoid flashy sounds such as those associated with accentuated bass and/or treble frequencies". It further states that those sounds "may be initially attractive to the novice" but "they are not real and are not enduring". WELL, I think they are making an excuse for an overpriced product.
