Cons: Some settings for advanced users

Pros: manual features, image stabilizer, face detection, motion sensor
Cons: the flash recycle time is a little bit on the slow side

Pros: Easy to set up and learn to use. Alkaline batteries last a long time.

Pros: Cheap, IS, 8 megapixels, 4X optical zoom, and uses available anywhere AA batteries
Cons: Redeye, some corner softness and minor chromatic aberration (purple fringing), slow flash re-charge
Bottom Line: The Powershot A590 IS is Canon's P&S digicam value champ

Pros: Inexpensive, Nice shape & size, Lots of features, Quick
Cons: Tripod mount, slow flash recycle, red eye, Lens conversion ring
Bottom Line: I would recommend this camera for anyone who wants something they can easily "grow into". You'll never be bored. Great for photo enthusiasts.
