I have had my Canon 30D for about 9 months now and I have been stunned at the difference over my last DSLR. What a great piece of equipment. I have taken photos that seem to be in crisper focus and more brilliant color. I am floored at the quality of this camera. I purchased it from B&H along with an extra battery and a battery grip to add some weight and stability. I find the manual settings are easy to use and access. I even use some of the automatic exposure and aperture settings. The camera performs so well, I don't have to worry about using these features. Usually, I would be unsure of the result I would get when using an automatic setting, but the 30D more than performs in this area as well. I find the continuous shutter at 5fps to be fast enough for me, although not as fast as the higher end models. I wish the buffer was a little closer to that of the Mark II so I could shoot more continuous shots without waiting.
I've been searching for a digital SLR camera for quite some time now. I had a Minolta 7D that performed so poorly it didn't warrant a review. I couldn't put into words how dissatisfied I was with it.
All in all, I am 100% satisfied with this camera and would recommend it to anyone seeking a "pro-sumer" type camera. It's a great value for the money, without having to shell out the major bucks for Canon's high end digital SLRs.
