Even with the release of 10MB Rebel, this 8MB camera wins hands down. The 3200 ISO is well worth the extra cost over the Rebel. You can shoot indoors without a flash and at high shutter speeds to capture action all with little to no noise in the picture.

My recommendation is to invest in the IS (Image Stabilization) lens. I bought the 24-105 f4L IS USM. It's almost the same price as the camera, but what a lens. Fast and sharp. All metal construction with the higher grade optics. It makes taking pictures almost error free.

I find the "P" Program mode to be my favorite setting. You get the flexibility of "A" Auto with the added options like continues focus, high burst frame rates and the option of capturing pictures using in RAW+Jpeg formats simultaneous. I almost never used RAW with my point-n-shoot. But with this camera I find myself going back to the RAW pictures when I find that few that stand out above the rest. For all the others I keep the Jpeg version, but it's nice to have that RAW picture available when you need it. Granted you use more card space, but a 4GB card will still hold over 250 pictures when capturing in RAW+Jpeg mode.
