Full Review
Can't get any better than this. I use this monitor for photo editing and it's the best I've seen. It's a little bright out of the box, but withe calibration, it's the best you can get, it out works the Apple 30" monitor hands down, it's sharper.
Only controls on the monitor are power, + brightness or - brightness, you can control more options, but it must be done from the OS level, not the Dell hardware.
Just think, no more scrolling across, when editing graphics, see the actual size of a print, zooming in for correction couldn't get better.... once you get past the price, there is NO downside!
If you are planning on running this and hate small print, I suggest still running maximum resolution and just enlarging your icons and text/fonts.
I've played video games on this machine as well... Battlefield... it's off the hook, and you can play with maximum resolution provided you have a good video card, and you MUST have a good video card, matter of a fact, you need a GREAT dual DVI video card to use this monitor, so you can chalk up another $500
When calibrating this monitor, it was a little edgy with the SpyderPRO2, so you will need to do some reading, and if you are planning on editing, you MUST calibrate the monitor.
Overall, the best piece of computer periph I own!!!
