PROS: advertised- 16.7 Megapixels!!! 4fps. 40 frame buffer. zoom capable on image review. Magnesium body. Faster write speeds to Compact Flash. Option to shoot with both Compact Flash and/or Secure Digital (SD) Cards at the same time.

Cons: Price! As I mentioned with the previous model, 1Ds, they charge this price because they know they can. Nobody comes close to the Megapixels and quality of camera.

The Canon 1Ds Mark II is a fine piece of equipment and certainly not the camera for everyone. It's file sizes demand fast computers and plenty of hard drive space. I purchased this camera because the client I shoot for demands 20x30 prints on a regular basis. This camera helps me to achieve this without degredation. In fact the 1Ds was achieving that but I want the capability of going bigger if I had to. The file sizes are huge: 49MB if you convert the images in 8bit and 95.5MB is 16bit tiff. I've had to purchase a .5 terabyte hard drive just to store all the images I shoot. A faster computer than I have wouldn't hurt also. Please see THE COMMENTS for more information!!!
