Pros: Instant startup, fast AF in good light, look and feel, accepts standard AA batteries, feature-rich.
Cons: Image quality; AF doesn't lock properly; Changing to RAW requires 12(!) steps.
The Bottom Line: Stay away! Poor image quality and AF problems caused me to return it to the store.

Full Review
Very impressive camera on paper. Looks great and feels almost like an SLR, although the plastic grip has a cheap feel to it. There are some serious problems with this model, though, which caused me to return it to the shop after 2 days.
The biggest problem is the image quality. The images look OK when small (e.g. on screen), but when viewed in the original size there is no sharpness and the details look smudged. Also, the camera showed a very strange behavior when focusing, often indicating that the focus has been locked while in fact it was not (producing blurry images). When I returned it to the shop they tested another S9500 that they had in the shop and they both showed the same problems. There was a concensus that both(!) cameras were defective in some way and they took mine back.
As the proud owner of a Fuji S602, I hoped this camera would be a significant upgrade, while in fact it was a downgrade (the image quality was worse than that of my old Fuji). It's a shame that Fuji released such a bad model, probably immaturely, without sufficient quality control.
My recommendation - stay away!
