I bought my T22 Thinkpad from COMPUSA refurbished. It had several screen defects. The price was 399$USD. It works above average, but is slow: 900MHZ non-mobile PIII, 256MB PC100 RAM, 20GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD-ROM. Battery life averages 2 hours.
Let me explain in detail the durability of this computer. I am Italian, and I get angry fast, especially when something doesn't go as planned. When this laptop froze for five minutes, trying to run web sites, I got angry. After being slammed on the floor only once, and hit several times on the hard drive by my fist, it survived and runs great. The keyboard survived as well, except I managed to tear out the "Q".
This thing is durable, as all IBM computers, and being a technician the only downfall is that its old and slow, (Think stationwagon).
