Pros: Kodak software is very user-friendly for downloading pictures.

Cons: This is an excellent example of bigger and newer is NOT necessarily better.......

Because I had another Kodak, Easy Share, DX 6490, I chose the Z812IS when I wanted to upgrade to a larger zoom and more megapixels. What I gave up has left me very disappointed, the improvements (zoom and megapixels) do not out weigh the things I lost........
The lens cap will NOT stay on.
You cannot turn the flas on manually.
The indicator that shows when you go from optical to digital zoom is vague and therefore wortless.
Kodak support system is difficult to use... I have yet to get any help I have needed.
"Upgrading" my camera shows me clearly that bigger is NOT always better..... I lost far more than I gained.
