Full Review

I, like many other users of this camera, bought this to replace an older model of another Kodak camera. I've had two Kodak’s in the past and will stick with the name despite amazing things I have heard about the Canon and Nikon brand name.

I bought this camera from Amazon for about $219 after shipping and handling. Had the camera in hands in about 5 days. I have now had the camera for about 2 weeks as of this writing. I loved the idea of having 8.2 mega pixels and 12x optical zoom. Most point and shoot cameras are 3x optical zoom and for me that was not good enough. I'm more of an amateur photographer but I like to play around with settings and getting the perfect shot. I tend to take pictures of nature like sunsets, and wildlife along with my own pets.

One of the first things I noticed with this camera is the battery life. You MUST get Lithium batteries for this camera. Anything else it will go through in two minutes flat! I've had this camera die on me several times so I have now invested in some good batteries. In my opinion, for the camera size, I think it's pretty lightweight and the size isn't obnoxiously bulky. I don't carry a massive purse, but I was able to fit this camera snuggly into my purse and carry it around all day at the zoo without an issue.

I LOVE the 2.5" screen on this camera. You can see your pictures instantly without having to squint to see it. The IS feature is amazing. I had my boyfriend shake his hand in front of the camera to test this and took a picture. His hand turned out crystal clear. I have noticed this is not always the case on different settings. I'm still learning how to use all the settings on this camera, but the night setting is a little funny. I was taking some pictures of animals outside at dusk and it seemed if the animal wasn't standing still, the movement would throw the image off and it would turn out blurry. The flash is great, but not always needed even though the camera thinks it does. I'm not too terribly impressed with the night shots I have taken, or the low light ones. There is a ISO feature on the camera for low light, but I'm really not sure if it does any good. I'm still learning all the features on this though.

My overall experience with the camera in the short time I've had it is great. I love Kodak cameras for the easy use and for their picture quality. One other down side I've noticed. There is no back button or way to 'back' when you are in menu features. It gets kind of annoying after awhile. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who is looking to invest a little but not too much in a great camera.
