I have had this camera for over a year and have taken over 1000 pictures with it. I just like to take pictures of family and trips. The big screen on the back makes for easy viewing. I went with kodak after researching several cameras for several weeks. It has good colors in indoor lighting. I wanted a zoom lens for those far off moments. Unfortunately, zooming at the fullest extent really needs a tripod - even with image stabilization. I have found that if you change the settings to sport or night time that you have a better chance of getting the zoomed shot. It is interesting that a still image in extended zoom comes out blurry but you can record a video at the same setting and it comes out fine. I love the video feature too. Unfortunately I didn't realize that if you turn the camera on the side to take a video it stays that way. The still picture mode corrects it when you view your pictures but that doesn't happen for videos. I haven't had much luck being able to put the videos on a CD/DVD for playback to share with others though. You can send it through kodak uploading to others. I have had kodak in the past and liked the easy way the software transfers and uploads pictures. The camera takes some time to get used to - holding it still after pressing the shutter (true of most digitals), watching out for lighting from candles, bulbs that will blur across the picture. Upload without a dock is easy, but sometimes I noticed I have to try and connect the usb cable several times for it to take. At the beach, my pictures come out great. I have already bought one for my mom.
