Awesome sound, but not what I was looking for

Author's Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: Great sound, portable.

Cons: Hard to get into ears, plugs wear out.

The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a pair of headphones to use on a train, these would be a good choice, but these don't do well with exercise.

Author's Review
While riding the train to my summer job every morning, and for working out, I liked to listen to music. I needed new headphones, and when I saw these headphones, I decided to give them a try. These headphones have pretty good sound, but there are a few problems. I can't comment on the durability of these headphones because my dad vacuumed over them after I used them for 2 months. Afterwards I bough a pair of Sony in-ear headphones.

What these headphones do well.
What these headphones do well they do very well.

These headphones offer great sounding music, once you get them in your ears. The ear plug type material that surrounds the speaker does a great job at keeping the outside sound out, and your music in. If you are going to use these while stationary, or not doing any heavy movement (not working out) they stay in the ear very well, and you will be very pleased with the sound you can get out of these little guys. The treble is a little weak, but the range is still good, and with a little adjustment on your cd-player or radio or whatever you are using, the levels can be brought back to a good mix of treble and bass. All in all, these offer the best sound for in-ear headphones I've ever heard, and you will probably be happy with how they sound as well.

What these headphones don't do well.
These headphones offer great sound, but trying to wear them to the gym caused me many problems. If you are not planning to wear these while doing activities, you may not have any of these problems.

The plugs are hard to get into your ear well. This isn't too much of a problem when you can put them in there and they stay there, but if you try running or lifting with these things in and start sweating, they will probably slip out. This can get very annoying.

The plugs wear out quickly. I wondered why my set of Plug headphones came with 6 replacement ear plugs, it's because they wear out quickly. Having to replace the headphones in my ear repeatedly, because it would keep on falling out at the gym, caused the foam on the headphones to break down quickly. I was going through 2 replacement plugs every 2 or 3 weeks. As the plugs wear out, they get more and more difficult to put in the ear so that they will stay.

The cord is not very long. If memory serves me correctly, the cord on these headphones is only about 3 feet. That is more than enough to keep it in your pocket while listening to them, but this causes a problem when you try to do sit-ups with your cd player sitting next to you. The 4 foot cord on my current Sony headphones is much better.

Conclusion.
These are very decent headphones, but they were just not what I was really looking for. If you are looking for a pair of in-ear headphones that offer great sound, and are planning on using it for car/train/plane rides, these would be a great choice. The plugs do a great deal to keep outside noise from interfering with your music. If, on the other hand, you are looking for something that you can put on for a run, or take to the gym, these are not the headphones for you. The plugs tend to fall out if you move around a lot or sweat.

I'd recommend these only if you don't want to use them to exercise. If you want to use them to exercise I would recommend a pair of headphones that hold on to your ears better.
