Full Review
Luigi's Mansion was kind of the like the Super Mario 64 of Nintendo 64. It was the main game that was supposed to show the systems capabilities, gameplay, sound, etc. All of the essential stuff for a system. Unfortunatly this game does not do that, BUT it is a great game. I think Super Smash Brothers Melee is the game that showed the best capabilities of the Gamecube.
Graphics
The graphics in Luigi's Mansion are pretty awesome if you ask me. The hanuted house has some great visuals as well as the effects put on the ghosts. Luigi walks funny but cool. Overall the visuals in the game are top-notch.
Sound
Luigi's Mansion does not actually feature a lot of music. A lot of the time in the game there is no music, just sound effects. I think they did this to make the enviroment more realistic and things, and if there is music, it does not really stand-out or overpower anything. But the sound effects are great. They are just little things like water dripping slowly, Luigi making little sounds showing he is scared, footr steps, etc. All are done very nicely.
Control
The control in Luigi's Mansion, for me, took a little time to get used it. You use the R button to vacuum up monsters, which is weird, and B to turn your flash light on and off...the controls are very odd at first. But after a day or two of playing, you being to really like the controls. And after getting to level 3 or so you love them. They are actually planned out greatly, but at first they are pretty hard to get used to.
Fun Factor
This game is fun overall. Vacuuming up ghosts is pretty cool, as well as exploring the haunted house for items and things. The only thing is the game is a little repetitive. You really do the same thing over and over again, but it is still pretty fun.
Replay Value
I have beat this game twice, and I still like it. After you beat it the first time, you get the option to go to the "hidden mansion" which is pretty similar to the normal mansion. It is just a little harder and things but nothing drastic.
Overall
A good game but if you had to only pick one game for the Gamecube pick Super Smash Brothers Melee.
*I would give it 4 stars, but I will give it since it should have a better overall rating*
