I purchased this camera/lens in October 2007. I must say that after reading the owners manual, I was more confused than I was before about the operation of the camera. After going through some basic camera classes, I am now very confident in the operation of this awesome camera. The main reason I purchased the D80 was I was tired of my old camera having to wait in between pictures to take another picture. Another reason was my old camera was only a 4 megapixel. The D80 takes 3 frames a second so there is no more waiting. With the 10 megapixel capability, you can take pictures with such clarity and enlarge them or whatever you want to do and still have great looking pictures. The 18-135mm lens compliments the D80 with a versatile zoom range that is perfect for most photography settings. The camera has a lot of features that allow you to take better pictures. It even takes awesome pictures in the auto setting. For the moms and dads trying to capture their children in their favorite sporting events to family vacations, this camera does it all. I would have to say that this camera is a must have for someone that likes taking pictures. Pictures are worth a thousand words, why not choose the best words to use.
