My wife and I purchased a Wii game for our daughter in March. The only problem that we have found out was that it did not come with two controllers. So it was very hard for her to have a lot of fun with this game playing by herself all the time. So we had to invest in another controller. It only cost $10, but the home console cost $250. My wife and I have tried the games and found them to be on the elementary level. It comes with my 9 mini games, which do not hold an adult's interest. But, these games will hold an eight-year-olds interest for quite a while. If you purchased the sports edition of this console they will give you two controllers. I have seen these at Costco Wholesale warehouse inside of a bundled package. If you purchased these from Costco, you also have the opportunity of using the excellent return policy that they have. This remote is not very large and only weighs a few ounces and fits comfortably in your hand. Once you use this remote and unlock the games that are inside you will be amazed at what they have come up with. The graphics and animation of how you react with the screen is beyond comprehension.

Hours of Fun
This remote is basically simple to use and will keep your children occupied for hours especially if they have remotes. There have been times that I would have to go through the house, to find out if my daughter was even inside the house.

Games
This comes with nine mini games that are rated for everyone. None of these games are very violent and they range from; Fishing, Billiards, Tanks, Find Me, Table Tennis, Shooting Range, Pose Mii, Laser Hockey, and Charge. All of these games are basically self explanatory by the name of the game.

Easy or Not
All of these games should be easy enough for your child to understand. I sat down with my daughter and tried to play with her, but for the most part all of these games I lost interest in. I am more into the action type games than these.

Safety Strap
The Wii controller comes with a wrist strap that should be replaced if you purchased it before December of 2006. This remote has been known to fly out of the hands and into the TV. When using this remote, you must make sure that you are wearing the wrist strap to prevent any injury to anything or anybody. You need to hold the remote firmly in your hand and give yourself plenty of room to move around. The company recommends that you stand three to 10 feet away to operate it properly.I have not had any problems with this flying out of my hands, but there have been a lot of reports about this fact. Sometimes you might get a little excited and careless while playing these games, the force of swinging around could cause the strap to possible break at the connection. Or if your hand gets a little sweaty, then the strap will or might slide off of your hand.

Conclusion
The initial investment of $250 might seem like quite a lot, but this is also a learning device for your children. This will teach them competition, and eye and hand coordination. I am just waiting to see how long it takes before my daughter gets bored with this game. If only the companies would think of a more generalized system that you can use all of these games. Now that would be the perfect system.
