Full Review
I just started taking an interest in photography about a year and a half ago and wanted a decent digital camera, but wasn't really sure or ready about going high-end just yet. I wanted something with good zoom, shutter speed, lighting options, etc, but a on a reasonable budget. Thats how I came to the SP-510UZ. This camera has certainly done the job for me and given me the chance to explore digital photography a little bit. It has an easy to use built in guide which is very helpful in walking you through the correct settings in different situations. In addition it also has some of your standard "scene" modes that can easily be selected and used when in specific settings like at the beach or shooting a landscape. The ergonomics are very good and the camera fits very well in your hand in any situation. It lacks true digital stabilization which i would definitely not exclude from next camera. Sometimes I take pictures and the look good on the LCD screen and then when I get home they are slightly blurry. Also the shutter speed (mostly in any kind of night mode) leaves a lot to be desired. Overall for a beginner camera, this does the job.
