The great thing about this digital SLR point and shoot camera is a fairly decent megapixel of 7.1 but more importantly is the "wide angle" 18 x optical zoom. This is the largest optical zoom on a point and shoot SLR camera.
This camera has 30 different shooting modes including modes for shooting "fireworks,underwater,underwater macro ,nighttime and panoramic The best feature if you have a child who is involved in sports is the amazing 15 shots per second. Although the quality of these shots will be at a quality of 640x480 these will print out fine as 4x6 prints.You also have the option of shooting 30 frames per second with again the same 640x480 quality.

This camera will also shoot pictures in "Raw mode" with a resolution of 3072x2304. Using the "Raw mode" setting is the best for high quality pictures. With this setting you will be able to get approx. 48 pictures using a 512MB XD digital card.

This camera also will let you videotape and then choose any image from the video and print it. This is a feature that earlier SLR point and shoot camera's did not have. Along with having sound with your videos you also have the option of having sound with your still pictures.

This camera weighs in at under 2 lbs and has a very nice easy to hold shape if you aren't a fan of the small,slim camera's. It has a image stabilization feature to keep your images from being blurry.It sports a huge 2.5 color LCD monitor.
