Full Review
The Olympus C-700 Ultra Zoom has all the features that serious photographers like, as well as auto settings for those who need them.
It takes amazingly clear photos in low light without a flash, and to test this I took pictures outdoors at night with a full moon. I couldn't see my subject at all through the viewfinder, but the resulting photo was clear and recognizable.
I've had a little bit of trouble getting clear images at indoor sporting events, but I suspect that's operator error and not this camera.
I love that I can substitute AA batteries in a pinch for the more expensive Lithium - I carry a back-up of AA 'just in case'.
With three resolution settings and the 8x10 printing capabilities, this could easily become my only camera. I've already seen it retail for $100 less than I paid for it, but I don't regret my purchase in the least. I haven't yet tried out the many features, but I think it will serve my needs for years to come.
