Bought this camera when it first came out and haven't been dissappointed. The 12X optical zoom is the best I've ever seen then or since.

While this isn't a pro grade SLR digital it's more than enough for the enthusiast not wanting to spend $1,000 or more.

Uses SD memory cards that are widely available, especially now for very reasonable prices. Don't buy the cheapest you can find or you'll trade memory speed for size. Slower speed memory means it will take longer to save each picture.

This is now an obsolete model, replaced by ones with higher Megapixel capacity per photo but still relevant and useable.

The battery is specifically made for the camera, rechargeable with a long life. Replacements and extra batteries are still quite expensive.

Very little useable photo editing software provided with the camera.
