Pros: Excellent receiver in the sub $500 range. Beats higher priced receivers.

Cons: Display too small. No individual tone controls. No Macro on remote.

Bottom Line: With an extremely easy learning curve and a great price, the Pioneer VSX-D914 is hard to beat.

Pros: Great looking receiver; plenty of on hand power; great sound staging;excellent movie sound.

Cons: It's not THX; many of the internal operations done solely by the remote.
